The small village is located on the southern shores of the enchanting Lake Bolsena, in a truly captivating landscape. Here, in addition to the presence of the clear waters of the lake, you can admire the distant Monti Volsini and the splendid hills cultivated with vines and olive trees. Although the first settlements date back to the Etruscan period, it was under the rule of the Farnese family that the village experienced its brightest moment, transforming into the pearl of Bolsena that we know today.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Numerous architectural structures take us back in time, as if the hands of the clock had stopped in that era.<\/p>\n

The most interesting of these is the splendid Farnese Castle, dating back to the 11th century. Important historical figures like Lucrezia Borgia and several Popes resided here. Not far from here stands the Collegiate Church of Santa Maria Assunta, which houses precious works of art, including stuccos and paintings. Among other remarkable monuments in the village, the 18th-century Palazzo Borghese and Palazzo Poniatowski stand out.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

After a stroll through the monuments and narrow alleys of the historic center of the village, one cannot resist discovering its natural and scenic beauties. One of the main attractions is the volcanic sand that stretches along the 6 km of coastline facing Lake Bolsena. Behind it, you’ll find Italian-style gardens where huge plane trees provide some shade for bathers.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

It’s not just the beautiful beach that attracts visitors and tourists: Capodimonte is also known for its centuries-old traditions that reach their climax in the summer. One such event is the Feast of San Rocco, the patron saint of the village, celebrated on the night of August 15th. A nighttime procession starts from the Church of Santa Maria Assunta and stops on the lake’s shores, where a captivating fireworks display takes place.<\/p>\n

Another interesting event is the \u201cSagra del Coregone\u201d, a festival held in August where you can taste the coregone fish, a freshwater fish found in the waters of Lake Bolsena. From an archaeological point of view, one of the attractions to visit is the ancient city of Bisenzio, a settlement dating back to the Bronze Age. Not far from here, on the calm waters of the lake, lies the small Bisentina Island, owned by the Rovati Foundation and reopened to the public since 2018.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t
