During Stage 42 of the Via Francigena, just 5 km before reaching Sutri, pilgrims pass through the town of Capranica, situated on a tuff cliff to the south of Lake Vico.<\/p>\n

The name of the town is believed to have originated from Capralica, itself derived from the expression “Caprae ilex” (meaning “holly of the goats”), referencing the settlement founded by a group of goat herders from the Etruscan town of Vico Matrino.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
