In the city of Acquapendente, very close to the borders of Tuscany and Umbria, you’ll find the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, the endpoint of Stage 37 of the Via Francigena and the first one within the Lazio region, specifically the Tuscia area.
The small town, crossed by the Cassia road, is situated on a volcanic plateau overlooking the valley of the Paglia River, and its name is believed to originate from the numerous waterfalls formed by its tributaries.
