Palazzo Monaldeschi: Located in the small village of Lubriano with an extraordinary view of Civita di Bagnoregio, the palace carries the name of one of the most prestigious Orvieto families that transformed a convent into a small “countryside” castle in the 11th century.
The current Baroque style with a “Juvarrian” flavor is attributed to Paolo Antonio Monaldeschi, who decided to renovate the palace according to the principles of the patrician villas in the Roman surroundings. Here, we will be warmly welcomed by the Misasi family.
Following the visit, accompanied by a trekking guide, we will immerse ourselves in the intriguing landscape of the Calanchi, where the silhouette of Civita di Bagnoregio stands out.
You’ll walk through untouched nature within scenes of incomparable beauty, until reaching the “Pianale,” a tuffaceous rise in the center of the valley that offers a unique panorama.
This area is one of the most fascinating in central Italy, with its incredible erosive formations created by atmospheric agents on Pliocene clay deposited about two million years ago.
The trekking concludes with a relaxing picnic featuring local products.
The fee includes:
