First day: Arrival in Viterbo. Guided tour of the magnificent historical center, dinner, and overnight stay.

Second day: Departure from Viterbo to Vetralla: a stage mainly on flat terrain that starts from the Strada del Signorino, within the Vie Cave, the beautiful tunnels carved into the tuff by the Etruscans. The incredible initial path gives way to country roads running parallel to the Via Cassia, and then winding through vineyards and olive groves on dirt roads until we catch a glimpse of the charming town of Vetralla, our destination. Guided tour by the Pro Loco of Vetralla. Accommodation in a hotel, dinner, and overnight stay.

Third day: The tour begins with a beautiful stretch of walking through a dense forest before reaching the Madonna di Loreto church. From here, through vast fields of hazelnut and oak trees, we will arrive at the Torri d’Orlando, ruins of an ancient monastery. We will then continue towards the delightful village of Capranica. Guided tour of the historical center. Dinner and overnight stay in the area.

Fourth day: Departure for Sutri, with its amphitheater carved into the tuff, and then continue to Monterosi, a small village that spreads at the foot of the Monte Lucchetti hill, near the volcanic Lake Monterosi. The little lake still offers stretches of unspoiled and wild beauty. The village of Monterosi is famous for a historical event that took place on the shores of the lake of the same name: the meeting between Pope Adrian IV and Frederick Barbarossa, who was to be crowned emperor, in 1155.

The fee includes:

  • Guided excursions as per the itinerary.
  • Three nights’ accommodation in selected lodging facilities with half-board treatment.
